2012 SEASON
Anticipated Start – June 9th

Cherry update – scroll down

High atop a ridge in beautiful Leona Valley is a family-owned 600 tree immaculate cherry orchard with delicious Bing and Rainier cherries growing on dwarf trees. The trees are trimmed to 7 feet so all the cherries are within easy reach from the ground. For children this is ideal and little ones love picking cherries.

A number of other features make Windy Ridge unique. We have safe off-street parking. It's just short walk (or ride) to the base of the hill where our tractor-pulling tram will take you to the orchard. We have clean plastic buckets for your cherries.

The view of the valley from our orchard is spectacular…the nicest in the valley. Once you have picked your cherries, we welcome you to enjoy the shade of our many trees and picnic tables, along with our wash area and portable toilets. You are welcome to visit with our horses or just enjoy the day. You may wish to bring a picnic lunch. There are some refreshments available in our little cherry stand, and ice-cold water from our coolers is free. We do not charge for admission or parking. We just want you to pick and enjoy our fruit and take plenty home to your friends and family.  Cherries also freeze very well and can be enjoyed all year.

Our cherries are all natural with nothing more than a traditional fertilizer used to supplement the soil nutrients. We never use pesticides.

CHERRY UPDATE: March 16, 2012

The orchard is in great shape. We are just waiting for more rain. The trees should be in bloom next week and the “rented bees” should be here next week as well.

We are looking forward to seeing all our previous visitors return. We anticipate a good crop of bing and rainier cherries. See you in June. Be sure to check back the first of June for the exact date of opening. It will be either June 9th or the 16th depending on the weather.
